Grade 1 Art

Course Description

This dynamic and interactive course encourages students to delve deeper into their creativity while developing essential artistic skills. Throughout the year, students will explore a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and multi-media. Each lesson will focus on key art concepts such as line, color, shape, texture, form, space, pattern and proportion, allowing children to build a solid foundation in the principles of art. Children will be encouraged to participate in thoughtful discussions about their artwork, those of their peers as well as art exemplars. These conversations will help them articulate their thoughts and feelings about art, enhancing their observational skills and appreciation for different perspectives.
