Hayshire Happenings: The Science Guy, Mr. Metzler🥼

Mr. Metzler came to our school as a volunteer. We learned that he is an engineer. He works at the York Water Company. 

He showed us fun science, taught us about push and pull, and explained how gravity works. He balanced a marker on a hoop on top of a water bottle. He put his finger in the middle of the ring and swiped down fast, and the marker went in the bottle. He shared that you shouldn’t swipe your finger sideways or up. You need to swipe down.

He taught us about sound waves. He had vibrating sound tubes. He had a chime. He rang it. He put the vibrating part in the water Kailey was holding. Her face got a little wet because the sound waves made it move. 

There were more experiments. They were awesome and it was all true information. Science is like magic, but it is real! 

We were severely entertained. I think he would be a great example for Hayshire’s future third graders.
