Hayshire Happenings: Thank You, Veterans! 🇺🇸

Veterans were celebrated this week at Hayshire.

Members of CYHS JROTC visited Hayshire. They planted flags and a wreath at the school entrance. This was done to honor people who serve or have served in the military. 

Children learned about Veterans Day during P.O.W.E.R. Time assemblies. 

• Captain Beam shared a story about Veterans Day. Mr. Beam is a paratrooper in the army. He jumps out of planes! 
• Third graders interviewed Mr. Caufman. He is the Assistant to the Superintendent at Central. He has also served in the military for twenty-five years! 
• We reviewed and practiced the Hayshire rules. We even played, Mr. Caufman Says, to practice two Hayshire rules:
  • We are safe in our actions.
  • We listen to each other
• Mr. Caufman shared how he stays calm in the military, and we reviewed how we stay calm at Hayshire. 

We are thankful because veterans keep us safe.
