Hayshire Happenings: Showing Positive P.O.W.E.R. At Assemblies
We had an assembly in the morning.
We were quiet and we were not interrupting the speaker. We reviewed Give Me Five. Give Me Five means eyes are looking, ears are listening, body is still, mouth is closed, and our brains are thinking.
We sit criss-cross applesauce with ready hands in our lap. We raise our hand if we want to talk. We talk at an assembly when the speaker asks a question.
We learned how to clap in an assembly. We clap a little bit loud and we stop when Mrs. Thomas stops.
Our first assembly was about hopes and dreams and the school rules. We listened to the story, Big Al. His hope and dream was that he wanted all the other fish to be his friends. That dream came true because he helped the little fish.
We sang the Positive P.O.W.E.R. song. Everyone knows the song. Mr. Daugherty wrote the song for us. We show Positive P.O.W.E.R. at assemblies.
