Hayshire Happenings: Reading Olympics 📚

Hayshire is going for the gold by reading at least 50,000 minutes in the next two weeks! Our school had a whole-school assembly to kick off the event!

Everyone pledged to read every day.

Two teachers composed an anthem with the help of AI. Everyone sang I Love To Read! Some children helped by singing and dancing to the anthem!

Mrs. Patterson carried the Olympic torch and explained the Reading Olympics. Classrooms and children can win prizes for reading. The whole school can earn a glow party! We are going for the gold

Miss Prowell read the story, No Buddy Like A Book. She also previewed some books that are in the Hayshire library.

There were special guests honored at the assembly. They donated money to help our reading specialists buy birthday books. Every child at Hayshire gets a book when it's their birthday. Children love getting birthday books.

Two children read a poem made just for the special guests.
