Hayshire Happenings: Reading Folktales πŸ“–

We are reading folktales in first grade. A folktale is not real. Most of it makes no sense. For example, in folktales, animals talk. There are even giants and fairies in some folktales!

All folktales teach you a lesson. We read Interrupting Chicken. The lesson in this folk tale is not to interrupt. Chicken learned interrupting is bad.

Lexi’s favorite part of Interrupting Chicken was when the chicken interrupted the dad. That was Kevin, Daniella, and Eva’s favorite part too. They especially liked the voice Miss Garrett used as the interrupting chicken. It was funny!

We are reading lots of folk tales. We even made a folk tale as a whole class!
