Hayshire Happenings: Establishing Rules To Reach Hopes & Dreams

Our classes worked on rules and hopes and dreams. Our teachers asked us what our classroom rules should be. First we thought by ourselves. Then we told the teachers and our classmates the rules we came up with.

There were LOTS of rules. We looked for rules that were similar and we combined them. We got three rules.

The rules are:

- Use kind words.

- Respect others and yourself.

- Be safe in our actions.

We have to follow these rules so we don’t get hurt. We don’t want anybody’s body or feelings to hurt.

We even made charts so we know exactly how to follow the rules. We brainstormed what it looks like, sounds like, and feels like when doing teamwork, getting in line, and even partner work. Both of our classes agreed on this.

We also hung up our hopes and dreams. Hopes and dreams are the things that we want to do this year. Charlie wants to get better at four square. Violet hopes to get artwork hung up in the gym. Kayleigh hopes to remember what she reads.

Working hard will help our dreams come true. Following the rules will help our dreams come true. So far our classes are doing a great job following the rules!
