Hayshire Happenings: CYSD's Remake Learning Celebration, Our Beautiful Neighborhood 🏡

Hayshire hosted CYSD's Remake Learning Celebration, Our Beautiful Neighborhood! The school was transformed into a neighborhood featuring an arrray of neighborhood stops. Each neighborhood stop provided an authentic learning opportunity for families. 

There were twelve neighborhood stops to experience. Children made contributions to community projects at some of the stops. 

• Art Studio: Neighbors created a cube that was collected and added to a mural.
• Photo Booth: Neighbors took a picture with the panther mascot. These were added to make a photo collage.
• Paw-sitive Public Relations: Neighbors recorded a video clip. Clips were compiled into a movie! You can see it below! 
• Recording Studio: Children recorded a piece of music that will be part of a larger musical composition! 

 

Additionally, children had the opportunity to experience and create things for themselves. They did yoga, visited the spa, learned about chickens and goats, made seed balls, programmed robots, decorated cookies, built a house, visited the library, and experienced the land of make-believe! 

 

Fifty-one volunteers helped at this year's event. Wonderful volunteers donated their time and talent to make Our Beautiful Neighborhood possible! The neighborhood also received funding for materials needed for the evening. 

As children left, they composed thank-you notes for the volunteers and/or a loved one. We want to thank the three-hundred community members and fifty-one volunteers who made this evening special.
