Hayshire Happenings: 1st Grade Reading Camp 📙

First graders at Hayshire are reading! They read during the school day. They read at home in the evening. They even read at Reading Club!

Reading Club happens after school two times a week. Fifty first-grade children and ten teachers stay after school to read and participate in reading activities.  

Readers make words using magnetic letters and cubes. They read the words they make. 

Readers figure out how to read new words. They look at the letters. They know the letter sounds. They say and blend the sounds together to read new words! They put words together and read stories! 

Readers have fun at camp. They have fun reading. The teachers have fun at reading camp. They are happy to see first graders read. Everyone feels proud of the work they do!
