Communications
The Communications and Marketing Department serves as the voice of Central York School District, bridging the gap between our schools and the community we proudly serve. Our mission goes beyond sharing information; we’re here to celebrate the amazing things happening every day across our District.
Whether it's spotlighting student achievements, highlighting innovative classroom experiences, or sharing district-wide announcements, we believe in shouting good news from the rooftops (or at least our social feeds). We’re passionate about building Panther Pride and making sure our families, staff, students, and community members feel informed, inspired, connected, and most of all, Proud to be Panthers.
We manage a wide range of tools and platforms to make that happen, including:
-
District Social Media Channels: Real-time stories, celebrations, and updates
-
District Calendar: Key dates and can't-miss events, all in one place
-
District Website: Your go-to hub for district news, resources, and information
-
Media Relations: Sharing CYSD's story with local, regional, and statewide media
-
Marketing & Branding: Ensuring our message is clear, consistent, and Panther-strong
-
Community Flyers: Connecting families with opportunities and resources
-
Corporate Sponsorships: Partnering with local businesses to support our students and schools
The Communications and Marketing Department is proud to help showcase what makes Central York a destination District—where our faculty, staff, and students are Pursuing Excellence: All Panthers. Every Day. In All Ways.

How We Communicate
Skyward
Skyward is our District's Student Information System. When you enroll a student, you will create a Skyward Account. It stores information that includes attendance history, grades, school reports, personal family information (address, phone, email, emergency contacts), and health information.
Skyward is also used as a communications tool for teachers and administrators to send messages to families. Messages will be posted in Skyward as well as sent via email to the email address associated with the parents in the Skyward account.

District Newsletters
Our District prides itself on consistent and effective communication with our families. During the school year, the District sends a weekly newsletter to all families and staff. It contains upcoming calendar events, important information, and news within the Central York Community.
Each of our schools also sends a weekly newsletter to their families and staff throughout the school year.
Newsletters are sent via email to the email addresses associated with their students via Skyward. All editions of our newsletters can also be found on our website.
