North Hills Orchestra

The Central York Intermediate Orchestra Program provides students in grades 4 through 6 with a comprehensive introduction to string instruments, including violin, viola, cello, and bass. Whether students are new to instrumental music or continuing from elementary exposure, the program is designed to build essential musical skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
In their first year, students receive small-group instruction focused on tone production and music reading. As they progress, they rehearse and perform as part of a full orchestra, developing ensemble skills, musicality, and confidence. Throughout their experience, students also benefit from the many academic and personal advantages associated with music education, including improved focus, communication, and collaboration.
A key highlight of the program is the opportunity for students to perform for families and the school community. These concerts showcase their growth, teamwork, and dedication, giving young musicians the chance to celebrate their hard work and share their love of music with others.
