Visual Arts

Central York's commitment to art education has earned the District the Pennsylvania Art Education Association's Outstanding Visual Arts Community recognition. The program celebrates the District’s commitment to cultivating and sustaining a strong, high-quality visual arts program for our students.
In high school, students may choose from a diverse selection of elective art courses that allow for deeper study and specialization. The high school program is supported by five full-time faculty and a suite of professional-level studio spaces designed to inspire creativity and innovation. This include two large drawing and painting studios, two 3D and sculpture studios featuring pottery wheels and a full ceramics kiln, and a state-of-the-art graphic design lab that integrates digital and hands-on processes such as screen printing, large-format printing, and professional-grade design tools.
Across all grade levels, Central York’s comprehensive, process-based curriculum fosters exploration, craftsmanship, and creative problem-solving, empowering students to discover the power and joy of artistic expression.
