of the signs and symptoms to look for include: dizziness, nausea,
headaches, confusion, drowsiness, sleeping more than usual, balance
problems, sensitivity to light and noise, problems concentrating, visual
problems.
If a student receives a head injury, this could affect not only their sports participation but also their academic success. Please make sure that they notify all of their teachers and school nurse. See physician policy for information regarding physician notes..

Any student who is injured during their sport season needs to see the athletic trainer. This person is the first person in the medical chain in caring for injured athletes. If this step is not taken, the school athletic insurance may not take effect. The athletic trainer is qualified to evaluate, treat, rehabilitate, and help prevent injuries. They can also help with referrals to a physician if one is deemed necessary. Any athlete who does see a physician, must have the appropriate documentation from the physician in order to return to any activity. This paperwork must be given to the certified athletic trainer. This is a reminder that any student who uses an inhaler should have that with them at every practice and contest. This is an important medicine that is not stocked on a general basis and should not be shared.
All student-athletes are REQUIRED to bring a note to return to participation. The note MUST be given to the Athletic Trainer prior to practice/games.
