CYHS Students Win Honors at Countywide Envirothon


Central York High School fielded two award-winning teams of learners in the York County Envirothon, held April 22 at at John Rudy Park. One team earned second place overall, one team earned 16th place overall, and one student received an individual award for her efforts. 

  • The Central York Bodacious Bees team, consisting of Kaitlyn Arrow, Kurt Hammen, Erin Molin, Daniella Feistritzer, Emma Olney, and Prital Prabhu, earned first place in Forestry, second place in both Aquatics and Wildlife, and third place in both Current Issues and Soils and Land Use.  As a result of their total score, they earned second place overall.  
  • The Central York Sustainable Salamanders team, consisting of Grace Wills, Alex Arrow, Heather Hoheneder, Elijah Kibler, Carissa Martinez, and Olivia Varner, earned 16th place overall.
     
  • In addition, at the Awards Ceremony, it was announced that Emma Olney is this year's recipient of the 2019 Paul Wilson Conservation Award, given by The York County Conservation District and The Izaak Walton League of America, Chapter #67.
