2nd annual CYSD homecoming parade

Homecoming Parade

Central York School District hosted the 2nd Annual Homecoming Parade, sponsored by the Central York High School Varsity Club, Thursday, October 12, at Central York High School.

Hundreds of students, faculty and staff made floats, marched, played music and represented their schools and community organizations. Despite dreary weather, they proudly processed throughout the high school campus to the applause of community members and families who came to participate in the fun!

Food trucks provided many refreshment choices and the DJ helped rally onlookers as the parade participants made their way around the high school campus.

Thank you to ALL who participated in the event and to the faculty, staff and students who organized it and helped offer such a fun and spirited event for our community.

Stony Brook hosts Cardboard Challenge

Cardboard Challenge

A time machine that transported Stony Brook learners to visit with dinosaurs or learn about aliens. Arcade games that combined STEM with hands-on, outdoor fun. These were just a few of the dozens of creations featured in the recent Stony Brook Elementary School "Cardboard Challenge."

The Cardboard Challenge is part of a global effort to inspire young students to create, design, innovate and play while learning.

Stony Brook Elementary School students, faculty and staff spent time bringing their visions to cardboard reality then sharing their creations with fellow classmates and staff for a day of inspired fun.

Above, third grade students of Stony Brook Elementary share their "Time Machine" with Dr. Michael Snell, Superintendent, during the school's "Cardboard Challenge" event held Tuesday, October 11.
