Parent - Teacher Conferences
Parent Conferences will be scheduled online!
Sinking Springs is pleased to announce that our conferences will be set up using an online scheduling system. The system will go live on Monday, Oct. 27th. You can sign up for a conference any time until Friday, Nov. 7th.

Picture retake day for Sinking Springs will be on November 11th at approximately 10:30 am. If you would like to place a new order during retake day, have your child come to the office for a picture form. Send the completed picture form and payment on November 11th. If your child is having a picture retaken, the original package must be returned to the photographer on retake day. You do not need to pay for the retake if you paid previously.
The Panther Pantry
The Panther Pantry is Central York School District's food pantry. The purpose of this pantry is to provide nourishing foods to children in our district who are hungry. The pantry is open the third Tuesdayof every month (Oct-May) from 6-7 pm.
The pantry is stocked completely by donations from our staff, families, and community members. We need help in order to help others.
Please consider making a food or toiletry donation to help our efforts. Your generosity will be appreciated!

Gertrude Hawk Fundraiser
Pick- up for Gertrude Hawk chocolates will be Tuesday, November 25th, from
4:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Sinking Springs Cafeteria.
Look how the Sinking Springs Staff ended their first day!
The Sinking Springs staff cooled off at the end of our first day by participating in the Ice Bucket Challenge. The staff donated money as part of the challenge to go to the Panther Pantry which will benefit our Central York families. They challenged the Central York Elementary schools, Central York administrators, and a wonderful friend, Charlet Miller, former principal of Sinking Springs Elementary to the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Join the Sinking Springs PTO for their next meeting of the year, Tuesday, October 7 at 9:30 am in the Sinking Springs faculty room. Join us to hear what the PTO has in store for our learners and our families this school year.
The PTO is still accepting volunteer forms to assist on committees or to become a head room parent. Additional forms can be obtained from the office.
If you would like to be included in this year's student directory, please provide your information on the computers provided at back to school night or use the link on the school web page. All directory submissions must be received by September 30th to be included in the directory.
The Sinking Springs fundraiser will officially kick off on October 1st and will end on October 13th. The fundraiser will be Kid Stuff books and Gertrude Hawk chocolates. All money for orders should be collected immediately and checks should be made out to the Sinking Springs PTO. The Gertrude Hawk orders will come in the week prior to Thanksgiving and pick-up will be during parent conferences that week.
Security Enhancements for 2014-2015
To help out our office staff, labeling the item you are dropping off with your child's name will be very helpful. We will also have supplies in the drop off area to help with labeling any items.
Those who are meeting with staff members, volunteering, or completing paperwork will proceed ino the office area.
Any adult entering the building will be signed into our School Gate Guardian system to allow us to keep an accurate log of who enters the buidlng each day. Please bring your driver's license with you the first time you enter the building, if you were not logged into our system last year. If you do not have your driver's license, our office staff will ask you for basic information to record in the system, and take a picture of you for our system.
Thanks for your cooperation as we continue each year to improve the safety and security for our Sinking Springs learners, our staff, and our families.
