PSSA testing at Sinking Springs
We're OF "FISH" ALLY ready for the PSSAs! The dates that Sinking Springs will be administering the PSSA tests for grades 4, 5, and 6 are the following:
Grades 4, 5,6 math and reading:
March 25, 26, 27 and April 1, 2, and 3
Students will take one test each day. There will be sessions beginning at 9:15 and/or 12:00 depending on your child's specials schedule. Your child may have a different lunch time or recess time on testing days. All specials (library, physical education, health, music, and art) will remain the same during testing dates.
Please refrain from taking your child out of school on these days for appointments or from being late to school on these days.
Grade 5 writing: April 8. 9. 10
Grade 4 science: April 29, 30
Due to our school cancellation days in December, January and February, school will now be in session on Monday, March 10; Friday, March 28, April 18 -early dismissal, April 21, Friday, June 6, Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Wednesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 12 - early dismissal.

PDE, CYSD Extend Testing Windows for
The annual Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) is a standards based criterion-referenced assessment used to measure a student's attainment of the academic standards while also determining the degree to which school programs enable students to attain proficiency of the standards. The information obtained from these assessments serves as a valuable tool for planning future school programs, developing curriculum and in-service training of teachers, and information the public about student achievement.
Please note: Due to the recent inclement weather and missed school days, the Pennsylvania Department of Education has granted school districts throughout Pennsylvania the opportunity to extend the testing windows for Math, Reading & Writing PSSAs. Central York School District will extend its windows to provide our faculty and students with more time to prepare for these state-mandated assessments. Please note the new windows, listed below.
