Roundtown Is PSSA PROUD!
Here at Roundtown, we are excited for our third grade students to participate in the PSSA test. All Roundtown teachers have worked hard to motivate and instill a desire to learn in our students. This will be the first of many achievement tests throughout their school career. We take this responsibility seriously but want the experience to be a positive, enjoyable event. We are describing PSSA to third graders as a challenge to show how much they have learned so far. We hope you will also share in this positive attitude and encourage your child to do his/her personal best in a low-stress manner. Thank you for your attention to this important event in your child's education.

Roundtown embraced what it means to be a reader and why reading is so important. We also had a lot of fun on the way! To help celebrate, Roundtown participated in special days that had ties to famous Dr. Seuss books including: The Cat In The Hat, Wacky Wednesday, Fox In Socks, and Green Eggs and Ham! For more information on Dr. Seuss and some fun activities, check out the following website: http://www.seussville.com

Listen to the following radio stations for closings or delays due to inclement weather: WSBA, WOYK, WHTF, WARM, WQXA. Television stations carrying school information are WGAL and WHTM. Parents can call to receive emergency cancellation information from the district automated operator at 846-6789. The Central York School District also offers updates on its district website. The district also uses an automated global connect emergency notification system via phone in the event of a school emergency or weather-related closing or delay. If your phone number changes, it is important to report this change to Mrs. Zarfos, school secretary, so the number can be changed in the global connect system. If you want to be removed from the global connect system or change the number that is called, you may complete that change over the phone by dialing 846-6789 x 1299 and follow the directions. Please be sure your family has a plan for early dismissals due to inclement weather. Please note that students go outside for recess unless the temperature or "real feel" is in the teens. Please plan to dress your child appropriately. The school recommends dressing in layers which can be easily taken on and off.
Delay Drop-Off Times
In the event that school is delayed due to inclement weather, the times for student drop-off to school will be as follows:
1 hour delay-9:30 AM
2 hour delay-10:30 AM
Students who are dropped off at school wait in the lobby area until 9:40 in the case of a 1 hour delay and 10:40 in the case of a 2-hour delay. Students should NOT be dropped off prior to the times listed above due to no supervision in the lobby. Thanks for your cooperation and let's think no snow!
