Weather Emergency Make-Up Days
Central York School District has four Weather Emergency Make-Up Days built into its 2013-2014 Calendar in case regularly scheduled school days are cancelled due to inclement weather or other emergencies.
All CYSD schools will now be in session Monday, March 10, March 28, April 18 (this will be a 1/2 day with students dismissing at 11:30am), April 21, June 6, June 9, 10, 11 and 12, 2014, to make up the days missed due to inclement weather. **Graduation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 as planned.**
June 12, 2014 will be the Last Day of School for CYSD students and will be a Half-Day Teacher In-Service Day with early dismissal.
3/7/14- ½ day Teacher In-Service Day, students dismiss at 11:30am
3/10/14- School is in session-emergency make-up day #1
3/14/14- Senior Fundraiser ends – money and order forms due
3/22/14- Mini Thon 9am-9pm *see details below
3/23/14- PTO Basket Bingo, doors open at 12pm, Bingo starts at 1pm *see details below

CYHS Prepares for March miniTHON
Central York High School is currently preparing for miniTHON, the annual event that raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund in support of families of children battling pediatric cancer. CYHS miniTHON will be held from 9 am to 9 pm Saturday, March 22, 2014, in the Central York High School gym.
*Dancer Registration Forms- Click here to download. The students are to register online for their fundraising, but they MUST ALSO register with this registration form (so we have parent permission) and pay their registration fee.
Registrations and fees are to be turned into the Office in an envelope by March 11th (Deadline extended) with the students name and grade marked on the envelope.
Central York High School PTO will hold the 15th Annual Basket/Vera Bradley Basket Bingo Sunday, March 23, 2014, in the Central York High School Cafeteria.
Doors open at noon and Bingo begins at 1 p.m. Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door.
Proceeds support the CYHS PTO Post-Prom Party.
CYSD Invites Community to Help Shape District's Future Goals
In the event of severe weather, or mechanical breakdown, schools may be closed, or the starting time delayed. The same conditions may also necessitate early dismissal. The Central York School District communicates school closings, delayed starting times or early dismissals in the following ways:
Phone Notification System - All parents/guardians of Central York School District students will receive a phone call at the number of their choice notifying them of weather-related schedule changes or cancellations
E-News - All parents/guardians who are subscribed to a building or district website will receive an e-mail notifying them of any weather-related schedule changes/cancellations
Website Posting- Weather-related schedule changes/cancellations are posted on the district website
Automated Phone System Recording - Call 846-6789 and Select Option 3 for "Weather Emergency Closing/Delay Information"
Announcement on Local Radio/TV Broadcasts- The following radio stations broadcast weather-related schedule changes or cancellations: WLPA/WROZ and WSBA/WARM 103. The following TV stations broadcast weather-related schedule changes or cancellations: WGAL Channel 8, WHTM/ABC 27, WHP TV 21, WITF TV 33 and WPMT FOX 43.
