CYHS Prepares for March miniTHON
Central York High School is currently preparing for miniTHON, the annual event that raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund in support of families of children battling pediatric cancer. CYHS miniTHON will be held from 9 am to 9 pm Saturday, March 22, 2014, in the Central York High School gym.
There are many different ways for students and families to help support the High School students' efforts, including the following:
*Dancer Registration Forms- Click here to download. The students are to register online for their fundraising, but they MUST ALSO register with this registration form (so we have parent permission) and pay their registration fee.
Registrations and fees are to be turned into the Office in an envelope by March 11th (Deadline extended) with the students name and grade marked on the envelope.
* VOLUNTEER: Adult volunteers are needed to help during the miniTHON. Click here to download a form and sign up to be an adult volunteer.
* DONATE: Food and financial donations are being accepted in support of miniTHON. Financial donations can be made payable to "CYHS miniTHON" and mailed to Beth Smith 3360 E. Sorrel Street, York PA 17406. Donations of cheese cracker packs, granola bars & water are also being accepted. These can be delivered to the CYHS Natatorium Entrance at 6 pm on March 21, 2014.
CYHS PTO Will Host Basket Bingo
Central York High School PTO will hold the 15th Annual Basket/Vera Bradley Basket Bingo Sunday, March 23, 2014, in the Central York High School Cafeteria.
Doors open at noon and Bingo begins at 1 p.m. Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door.
Proceeds support the CYHS PTO Post-Prom Party.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS CLUB UPDATES
Students from Central York High School's Model United Nations Club participated in Juniata College's High School Model United Nations Conference. The following students participated: Olivia Long, Aidan Sylvester, Liam Hogue, P. Griffin Sneath, Taylor Spoon, Tegpartap Singh, Elizabeth Cross, Nathan Shaffer, Emma Woodward, Nitasha Agarwal, Madona Farag, Simone Phillips, Dhruvil Shah, Omkar Kane, Emma Long, Elisabeth Ketterman, and Alexander Feistritzer. Emma Long received a Certificate of Recognition for writing the best position paper in her committee.
Students from Central York High School's Model United Nations Club recently participated in Penn State - Harrisburg's Model United Nations Conference. Students pictured are Dhruvil Shah, Thomas O'Neill, Elisabeth Ketterman, Madelyne Snider, Aidan Sylvester, Omkar Kane, Noah Dusich, Olivia Long, Ryan Steigerwald, Andrea Quartey, Megan Conway, Emma Long, Alexander Feistritzer, Nathan Shaffer, David Myers and P. Griffin Sneath. Omar Kane received recognition as an Outstanding Delegate representing the country of Argentina.

CYSD Invites Community to Help Shape District's Future Goals
Bowl for Kids Sake is a fun and easy way to positively impact a child's life. Big Brothers Big Sisters supports 3 SMART Programs in our district. At this time, 30 plus students participate at Hayshire, Stonybrook, or Roundtown. What a great way to give back and have fun at the same time!!
