Classroom Diagnostic Tools
Information for Parents/Guardians & Students

The Classroom Diagnostic Tool (CDT) is a free Pennsylvania Department of Education resource that Central York School District has embraced for use with our students in Grades 4-12.

The CDT provides educators and students with timely and precise feedback specific to approved educational state standards.  It is a computer adaptative test (CAT). Similar to other assessments, students complete this type of test by responding to a series of multiple-choice items. A computer adaptative test is different because, as a student responds to each question, the CAT determines the next question to ask the student. This means that each student can be administered a unique set of questions, which allows the test to give diagnostic information about each student's understanding and abilities of the concepts tested.

To learn more about the CDT, please review the attachment, below or visit the the Standard Aligned System http://www.pdesas.org/module/assessment/Diagnostic.aspx. We encourage you to call your building principal, and the Assistant Superintendent, Mr. Robert Grove at 717-846-6789 x1202 with any questions or concerns.

The Library & Learning HUB represents a shift from how learners in the past used a library to what today's learners need from a library. Learn more about this concept here. The Library & Learning HUB at Central York Middle School is designed to support digital age instruction and learning, and will offer:

  • Curriculum & Technology Experts
  • Student Panther Tech Experts

    Negotiations Update
An Update from the Central York School District Board of School Directors - November 18, 2014

The Central York School District and the Central York Education Association have been in negotiations over a successor collective bargaining agreement since January of 2013.  An agreement was reached to extend the prior contract through 2013-2014 but  negotiations have otherwise continued. Most recently, on October 15, The Board Team made a proposal which it characterized as its final offer and requested that the proposal be submitted for a vote by the CYEA membership but, to date, no such vote has been taken.

At its regular meeting on Monday, November 17,  the Board of School Directors unanimously  approved a proposed contract based on the proposal presented on October 15.  A copy of that proposed contract can be viewed by clicking the link below. In addition, a  Fact Sheet regarding the major provisions and the rationale for the Board's proposal  is included here as a matter of informing citizens with respect to this important matter.

The Board will provide updated information as and when  appropriate.
