Students to Perform in Holiday Concerts
In the upcoming weeks, students from NHE will share in the holiday spirit as they combine with other students from around the district performing sounds of the season. We would like to invite all NHE parents and community members to join in the fun. These concerts are free of charge and are sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
Please join us at the Central York High School for Grade 5 & 6 holiday concert featuring the bands, choruses and strings for each grade level.
The Grade 5 Holiday Concert will take place on Tuesday, December 17, at 7 PM at the Central York High School. The Grade 6 Concert will be held on Wednesday, December 18, at 7 PM at the Central York High School.
Again, we are very proud of our students’ hard work in preparing for these upcoming concerts. Please join us in celebrating the achievement of our students.

Winter Weather: Recess and Bus Stops
The cold weather has arrived. Because of this, coats and layers of warm clothing are necessary. This applies to both the bus stop and outdoor recess. When students report to lunch, they must take their coat with them. Students will not be permitted to return to their classroom after eating in the cafeteria. Coats are not to be worn in the classroom. Each classroom is climate controlled providing a comfortable environment for your child.
Mr. Youcheff or Mr. Livingston with any questions or concerns. We strive to keep the lines of communication open between home and school. Our email addresses are posted on the North Hills’ website, and we can be reached by phone at 846-6789. We would like to thank everyone for the continued communication.
It's Time For School Store!!!
Back by popular demand, North Hills will be offering SCHOOL STORE to students in grades 4-5-6. SCHOOL STORE is an opportunity for NHE students to purchase school supplies (pencils, pens, rulers, folders, erasers, etc.) at a great price.
SCHOOL STORE will be held during your child's lunch recess time. It is recommended that students NOT bring more than $5.00 for each SCHOOL STORE day. Use the schedule below to mark your calendar for SCHOOL STORE days.

Health Tips from The Nurse: Students With Illnesses
Please call the school immediately when your child is sick with any contagious disease like chicken pox, strep throat, ringworm, impetigo, pinkeye, flu like symptoms, etc. This information is necessary to protect the health of all of us at North Hills.
Please review the "Attendance Information" in the 2013-2014 Student/Parent Handbook. As with most children, it is not unusual to miss days due to illness. However, when this occurs, it is necessary to have a BLUE excuse card signed by the parent or guardian stating the reason the student was absent. A BLUE card is also required for educational trips, preceded by the completion of the Educational Trip request form. This is part of the Pennsylvania School Law. If five days pass and a BLUE card is not returned, the absence becomes unexcused.
After 10 absences, a student may receive a note from NHE requiring a doctor's note for any future absence. If you child is experiencing a special medical problem, please contact the school nurse and submit a letter from your child's doctor pertaining to the medical condition.
If there are any concerns regarding attendance, please contact the school.
Please Help Us In Keeping Good Bus Behavior

Each year, the NHE PTO provides educational opportunities and projects for the children of North Hills. Please continue to support the PTO so outstanding activities can continue. We ask that you sign up and contribute your time and effort to continue to make NHE a school of excellence.
