Central York School District has partnered with the Byrnes Health Education Center to offer Central York School District parents and guardians a special presentation titled "Drugs 101: What Parents Need to Know" from 6-8PM Monday, June 4, at Central York Middle School, 1950 North Hills Road, York. 

"Drugs 101: What Parents Need to Know" seeks to educate parents and caretakers about today's most used and abused substances. This prevention based program is a multi-media presentation that allows participants to interact with the presenters through Audience Response technology!
 
A mock bedroom scene serves as the backdrop to the two hour presentation. Program participants are given the opportunity to identify drug and alcohol paraphernalia items that are placed within the scene.
 
Throughout the presentation, more than 80 trendy drug and alcohol indicators will be unveiled to show how some adolescents hide, use or sell drugs at school or home. Participants will receive a packet of information regarding drug facts and tips to initiate conversations regarding drugs with their teenagers.
 
Signs, symptoms and current trends of gateway drugs, "juuling", and "vaping" will be presented along with Heroin, Prescription Drugs, and Marijuana.
