The Pennsylvania Department of Health has made several major changes to immunization requirements that took effect in August 2017.

It is important for you to be aware of these changes and take action as needed to ensure your child can be enrolled in and attend school on our first day, August 22, 2018.

The major changes include the following:

**Change to Provisional Enrollment Period:

The provisional period during which students without vaccines or allowed exemptions are permitted to attend school has been reduced from 8 months to 5 days (starting with the first day of school for the 2018-2019 school year).

**New Vaccination Requirements:

**Combination form for diptheria and tetanus;

**Pertussis vaccination

**4 Doses of Polio

**Combination form for measles, mumps and rubella; and

**Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MCV) for entry into 12th Grade

A child must have the required, medically appropriate vaccines or a plan to complete those vaccines OR risk exclusion from school.

Please visit our website to learn more about these changes. Our school nurses have been contacting families we know need to provide updated information, and we will continue to do so as the start of school approaches.

Stay tuned for more updates as the start of school approaches.
