Central York School District is now accepting registration for its upcoming Community & Adult Education opportunities!




(You've been meaning to try Yoga, sign up now!)
Yoga is an ancient practice of breathing, movement and meditation to help us have a healthier body and techniques to calm your mind. We will practice flowing from pose to pose, work on balancing postures and core strengthening with some relaxation at the end of class. No prior knowledge of yoga is necessary. You will need to provide your own yoga mat. I recommend a thick, non slip yoga mat. A yoga block and strap are recommended but not required. Please bring a small towel and a bottle of water!

A Skill That Will Last a Lifetime!

Add to your repertoire of bronze dance figures. This class will focus on the American Style Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango and Viennese Waltz as well as Rumba, Cha Cha and Swing. You must know the basic figures to take this class.

Improve your dance technique and learn how to connect figures on the dance floor. Some new figures will be added, but emphasis will be on execution of previously learned figures on the social dance floor. You must have some ballroom dance experience to take this class.

GETTING PAID TO TALK:  Making Money With Your Voice
This is a single-evening workshop offering an upbeat  entertaining, and engaging introduction to the world of voice over. From industry pros & cons to real-world examples, attendees will learn behind-the-scenes basics of both the creative and business aspects of the field in a manner that is both fun and realistic. Questions and class engagement are always encouraged. Each attendee will have the opportunity to record a real script under the direction of our producer right there in the classroom. Each student's recording is then played back at the end of the session as a class finale!
**The instructor is also available to provide basic voice assessment to anyone attending.

Participants will learn the elements that go into a retirement plan. We will cover how to manage risks in assuring the plan executes as was intended. Investment risk and reward, long term health risks, tax efficiency, inflation, social security, asset allocation and distribution strategies are just some of the topics covered in the workbook you will receive. Students will have the opportunity to have a plan drawn up for them in an optional planning consultation meeting, which is included in the course fee. This consultation is private. Your personal finances will not be discussed in class. This course is educational in nature; neither specific companies nor products will be mentioned.

START WITH hola !      (An Introduction to Spanish)

Join me on a journey to explore the fascinating world of Spanish. While you learn how to ask and answer basic questions, an overview of some grammatical concepts will be sprinkled into our learning time. This is not designed as an immersion course. Optional practice activities will be provided to complete between classes, some of which will be on line. Mastery will require practice. Additional courses will be added.
Topics covered will include greetings, farewells, expressions of courtesy, numbers to 59, time, days, months, expressing your name, asking & answering, "How are you?"

Would you like to be able to order a meal in a Spanish restaurant? If so, this is the course for you! We will include appropriate Spanish vocabulary, useful phrases and short dialogues to help you express yourself in a variety of settings in a restaurant or during a meal. 
This is not an immersion course, but it assumes that you know the basics of Spanish pronunciation from the beginner course "Start With Hola" or from a previous introductory Spanish course provided elsewhere. Optional assignments to practice at home will be provided for those who want to master the topic. Some of the materials will be online. Whether you want to travel or expand your language horizons, be sure to join us for a palatable experience.
Please note that this is a language course. Food will not be a part of any class, although there could be an optional meal at a Spanish restaurant after the course ends, if that is of interest to the group. Each individual would pay for his/her own meal in addition to the course price.

Join local author and storyteller, Phyl Campbell as she shares techniques for creating dolls, puppets and other fun crafts for storytelling. These crafts are so easy they can be taught to elementary school age students. You can do it! All crafting supplies will be provided by instructor.
